Our House- Just for you Shannon!

I couldn't show pictures of our house without showing a picture of the fence that my dad spent over a week building while Chris and I were at work.  Thanks Dad!!!!!
This is the other side of the front house.  The three windows above the garage are all apart of Kayla's bedroom.  The window on the far left is of her walk-in closet.  She is the Princess.
This is our living room as you come through the front door.
And this is the back of the room where the door is.

This is probably the most used room.  It is our Family Room upstairs.
We still have a lot we want to do, but we love our house.

First Day of School 2010

I can't believe I'm the mother of a 5th and 2nd Grader!  Still blows my mind.  The kids enjoy walking to school every morning.  It's very convenient that our neighborhood is next to the school.

Father and Sons Campout

Back in May when my dad came to set Chris apart as a High Priest, our ward had a Father and Sons Campout.  So, Chris, Austin, and my dad were able to go.  They had a lot of fun, and found shelter to pitch the tent in.  BTW, this is the same place that we had Girl's Camp!!

Chris' Promotion to Captain

As always, it's been too long, so here's my attempt of catching up a little.  Chris was promoted to Captain on June 1st.  It was a very exciting day for him.  Now, that he's a Captain, he will be leaving to Captain's Career Course in a few days.  Hopefully, being able to go to this school shortly after promotion, will put him in line for Company Command soon.

Washington D.C.

With life as busy as it has been, it was easy to let a few things go, and the blog was one of them.  So, here's a quick update.  Chris made home safely from Iraq on November 13th after a LOOONG trip home that ended up being diverted to Charlotte and taking a 4 hour bus drive back to Fort Bragg.  (Don't ask why it took 4 hours to drive back when it normally takes 2 hours.)

It has been wonderful being back together as family after a year a part.  Chris is currently enjoying a much deserved month off.

The week of Christmas, we went to Washington D.C. with my parents and grandparents.  We had a wonderful time enjoying the many sites of our nation's capital.  We got there two days after a huge snow storm and it was absolutely beautiful.

Joanie and Jared's Wedding

While we were in California, we went to Chris' sister's wedding.  The family got to get dressed up for the formal event.  Kayla was Joanie's flower girl and Chris walked her down the isle.  We had a blast.  All the pictures at the wedding were taken with Chris' camera, so one day when I get those I'll  post them.  Congratulations Joanie and Jared Rollins!
